3:29. That is what time my brother’s wedding starts tomorrow, January 11, 2014. The coordinator suggested we pick a random time like this to help people remember. What we did not realize at the time is how perfect it really is.
John 3:29 says, “The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine and it is now complete.”
Simply love this. I’ve studied syntax so much in high school that now I end up applying it everywhere to help me understand the meaning in writing. I love how the Bible tells us straight up that “the friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens, and IS full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice”. It’s not that he might be or sometimes is, but that he IS. No question. The fact that, being the bride and body of Christ, we are guaranteed that joy upon first listening (key) and then actually hearing his voice is so exciting and such a sweet promise.
On another note, one of the most important people in my life will be a married man tomorrow. Sharing is a hard thing to do, but I honestly couldn’t be happier or more thankful for my soon-to-be sister-in-law, and I am so blessed by their relationship. Looking forward to a long emotional day full of celebration, tears, photos, food, friends, and family.
